About the Campsite:
Our Give Me Shelter - Creekside camping site is located a covered pavilion adjacent to Little Deer Creek. Enjoy the quite solitude surrounded by the natural qualities of Heritage Farm.
Pitch your tent along the wooded creek bank and enjoy the shade and protection from rain provided by the shelter! The site has a firepit and picnic table. Modern restrooms (but no shower) are available 200 yards away.
Heritage Farm is a working alpaca farm with over 50 alpacas you can watch and interact with. Make friends with our black Labrador, Juno. Also residing on the farm are a flock of chickens, 4 goats, several barn cats and a few goats. If you want to, you can help with the daily chores of feeding the animals and collecting eggs. After that, you can explore the big red barn that was selected as one of the top-ten Bicentennial barns in the state. Roam around the 120 acre homestead, woods and creek and soak in the sights, sounds and smells of the farm.
Activities for kids include helping with farm chores, hiking trails, wading in the creek, swinging on the large platform swing and sliding down the hill slide.
Be sure to visit our farm store before you leave where you can shop for alpaca products such as sweaters, hats, mittens and scarves. Pick up some honey made from bees on our farm or some farm fresh eggs from our flock of pastured chickens!
