About the Event
Nuno felting is the process of making a new type of fabric by combining a loose weave fabric with naturaL fiber. The easiest way to do this is use a fabric that is light weight and loosely woven with a wool that is a fine fiber such as alapca. This allows the fine fiber to move easily through the fabric. We are excited to have Beth Cripe teach us how to make beautiful scarves. Beth is a fine artist that has turned fiber artist focusing on spinning, weaving, dyeing and nuno felting. She will instruct us in creating our own scarf using wet felting techniques. The scarves, fiber and materials to complete the project will be provided; however, you are welcome to bring some of your own fiber. Beth Sheets will provide soup and/or sandwiches. Everyone else can bring a dish that can be shared. Come and enjoy the fellowship.
